A Home Study is valid for a set amount of time (ex: 1 year) according to state requirements. Prior to its expiration, a family will need to update their home study to continue their adoption journey. A home study update will also be necessary if there have been any major changes within home, finances, or family dynamic to remain home study active.

This process typically includes updated background checks, medical information, and employment/income verification.
